The next Melksham Monday Movies will feature two hit films: My Old Lady, starring Kevin Kline and Maggie Smith, and A Boy Called Christmas, also starring the late Maggie Smith.
My Old Lady tells the story of a down-and-out New Yorker named Mathias (Kevin Kline), who travels to Paris to liquidate a huge, valuable apartment he has inherited from his estranged father. Once there, however, he discovers a refined old woman, Mathilde (Maggie Smith), living in the apartment with her daughter, Chloe.
This film will be shown on Monday 2nd December.
A Boy Called Christmas follows an ordinary young boy named Nikolas, who embarks on an adventure into the snowy north in search of his father, who is on a quest to discover the fabled village of the elves, Elfhelm. Taking with him a headstrong reindeer called Blitzen and a loyal mouse, Nikolas soon meets his destiny.
This film will be shown on Monday 16th December.
The films are screened at the Assembly Hall. Doors open at 1.30pm, with the film starting at 2pm. There will be a break for tea or coffee and a chance to catch up with friends, before the event finishes around 4pm. Admission is by donation, with a suggested amount of £4.
