Melksham Community Meals volunteers were out in force again this week letting their users know that they matter.
The community group has been unable to host their weekly lunches due to Covid-19 restrictions, so instead have been sending users surprise packages.
The group says that the packages are to let users know that they are being much thought of during these pandemic times and to bring a smile to people whilst they are all still unable to get together.
From the group, Sue Mortimer reports, “The surprise theme this time was Harvest Festival. A ploughman’s lunch was delivered to 96 of our users. Also included in the delivery were some amazing pictures with a harvest/autumn theme, produced by the children of The River Mead School.
“I know from the feedback I have already received that they were much appreciated and are donning many of our users’ walls! So thank you, once again, River Mead School pupils and staff for your tremendous efforts.
“Melksham Community Meals would like to thank Asda and their community champion, Jacqueline Webster, for offering their very generous donation of bread rolls, cheese, apples and grapes.
“I would also like to thank, this time, hard working volunteers – Ursula Sinclair, Pauline Centa, Paul Carter and Elvy Schofield.”
