Melksham has a fantastic computer club for those who need help with their laptop, tablet or phone and it’s completely free to attend.
Some of the varied topics covered include help to turn a computer on, how to shop online safely to and how to keep in touch with family using the internet. If anyone is interested in learning about these and more then they should call 0300 456 0100 to register with the computer club.
A group of dedicated digital champion volunteers run the session from Melksham library every Thursday from 5.30pm – 7.00pm. If the time of the session doesn’t suit or getting to the library is tricky, then the volunteers can come to people’s homes or meet them in a convenient location.
Volunteer coordinator for Melksham Sarah Hiscocks stated, “Using the internet is something that so many of us take for granted, we just start using our device to communicate with family and friends or find out whatever has just popped into our head.
“As a digital champion, I can help others gain confidence to make the most of their device too, and enjoy the wonder of having so much information at our finger tips.”
