Melksham is one step closer to its new splashpad this week, following the announcement from the town council that work is due to start on Tuesday 7th May, after the Bank Holiday weekend.
Works will take several weeks in the King George V playing field, and it is hoped that the splashpad will be open in time for the school summer holiday and ready for families to enjoy.
As the park will remain open during the works, events – including the parkrun, carnival and Party in the Park – will be working with the town council, to ensure that all visitors remain safe and able to enjoy these events.
The town council will be keeping the public up to date with all the progress via its website and social media pages.
Town clerk Linda Roberts commented, “The splashpad is the catalyst to a range of exciting improvements to King George V playing fields. It represents the council’s commitment to investing in the town’s play areas and amenities.”
