THE latest figures for Covid infection and vaccination rates for Westbury have been released. The current percentage of people aged 16+ within Westbury who have had both doses of the vaccination is now at 87.8%.
The current infection case rate per 100,000 people for the area is 375.9, with around 55 people having a positive test result for Covid. Although this is higher than the reported average in the UK, which sits at 332.1, this is not a cause for concern as the infection rates are on the decline in the area over the past few weeks, following a previous spike at the end of August.
Booster schemes have been set up at Westbury Surgery, with the deputy practice manager, Maria Strachan, explaining how the roll out will work, “We have now started to offer Covid boosters through the national booking system to the patients who are eligible. These are people that had their second dose longer than 180 days ago and have been notified from the national system by SMS and letter. They will need to follow the instructions sent to them to allow them to book an appointment.”
