HIGH STREET, MELKSHAM, (ED11) Overnight an attempt was made to enter a business premises, a rear upstairs window was smashed. No entry was gained and nothing believed to have been stolen.

SAINSBURYS, BATH ROAD, MELKSHAM, (ED11) A male offender attempted to steal 2 x bottles of Jack Daniels by concealing them in his jumper before leaving the store. He was confronted and detained by shop staff. Police attended and arrested the male on suspicion of shoplifting. Denroy THOMAS, 52, from Queens Crescent, Chippenham was charged and remanded for this and dealt with for other outstanding shoplifting offences. He was given a 12 week sentence (suspended for 18 months), a fine of £95 and placed on a TAG curfew for 3 months.

MILLS ROAD, MELKSHAM, (ED11) Between the 10th and 14th April an offender has smashed the rear window of a parked and unattended vehicle. The rim of the rear window has also been tampered with.

SANDRIDGE COMMON, MELKSHAM, (ED12) Officers on patrol conducted a routine vehicle stop check. In the course of enquiries, the driver male has stated he had been smoking cannabis earlier. A drug swipe test was conducted which has tested positive. The male arrested on suspicion of drug driving. The male, in his 20’s, from Melksham was later released RUI (Under Police Investigation)

GOLDFINCH ROAD, MELKSHAM,(ED12) Officers on patrol conducted a routine vehicle stop check following erratic driving. The driver was suspected of drug driving, he was given a drug swipe test which tested positive. The male was then searched and found in possession of Cannabis. The male was arrested for possession of Class B and driving under the influence of drugs. The male, in his 30’s, from Melksham, was later released RUI (Under Police Investigation)
