A FUNDRAISING event was held at the Sultan restaurant in January, raising £162 for lifesaving pet oxygen masks.
Local volunteers Ann and Steve Stanford, organised the event with Azim Abdul, the owner and manager of the Sultan.
The money raised will go to not-for-profit organisation Smokey Paws, who supply fire brigades with life-saving pet oxygen masks.
Ann said, “The Sultan donated the profit from the meal to the charity, plus we held a raffle, so the total amount raised was a fantastic £162!”
Organised by Ann and Steve, fundraisers have so far supplied Wiltshire and Dorset brigades with six sets of the life-saving oxygen masks.
Last year Melksham Fire Brigade became the first crew in Wiltshire and Dorset to be trained in the use of the masks.
