THE daughter of Melksham woman Celia Marsh, who died after having an allergic reaction to a Pret A Manger wrap in 2017, ran the Bath Half Marathon in her memory, raising £1,000 for allergy awareness.
Ashleigh Grice ran in the event on Sunday 15th October in honour of her mother who died after she ate a wrap that was labelled vegan but contained traces of milk, from a Pret A Manger branch in Bath.
Ashleigh raised money for the Natasha Allergy Foundation which was set up by the parents of 15-year-old Natasha Ednan-Laperouse who died in 2016, after having an allergic reaction to a baguette from Pret A Manger branch at Heathrow, which contained sesame seeds that was not labelled.
“The run went very well; I finished in two hours 36 minutes,” says Ashleigh. “The highlight of the run was the support and atmosphere and, of course, when I crossed the finish line. I think my mum would be very proud of me completing the Bath Half in her name and raising awareness for allergies.
“I plan to keep fundraising and campaigning in honour of my mum.”
