Drag Bingo returns to Melksham

After a successful event in Melksham earlier this year, Drag Bingo UK is returning on Friday 9th October with an 80s-themed edition.

Created by award-winning drag performer Miss Demeanour, Drag Bingo UK combines live vocals, drag performances, audience games, iconic music and interactive bingo into an entertainment experience.

Organisers say, “For its return to Melksham Assembly Hall, the nationwide touring event is bringing its ‘80s edition, packed with power ballads, dancefloor anthems and enough neon, sequins and shoulder pads to make 1985 blush.”

Miss Demeanour said, “We always say it’s less about the bingo and more about the atmosphere. We just want people to come in, forget real life for a few hours and leave feeling fabulous. Melksham absolutely blew us away when we visited in May. The audience completely embraced the chaos, so coming back was a no-brainer.

“Tease the hair, grab the shoulder pads and prepare to scream bingo like it’s 1985 and everybody’s watching. If ever there was a time to go completely over the top, this is it.”

Unlike traditional bingo events, audiences do not win cash prizes – as the event isn’t a gambling activity – but could walk away with anything from a rhinestone toilet seat featuring Miss Demeanour’s face to industrial quantities of tea bags, family-sized sacks of pasta or any other prize Miss Demeanour has found whilst wandering around a discount shop.

Organisers say, “The special ‘80s edition promises a soundtrack packed with iconic hits from one of music’s most outrageous decades, alongside live vocalists, drag performances, glitter, lip sync battles, audience participation and the return, of course, of the Best Dressed competition.”

The event starts at 7.30pm at Melksham Assembly Hall.
