LOCAL youths have celebrated their achievements in obtaining Duke of Edinburgh awards at a recent ceremony.
Twenty youngsters were awarded certificates with 18 receiving a bronze and two picking up a silver certificate. The awards were presented by retired headteacher Delyth Wiltshire who used to work at Churchfields School in Atworth.
Dawn Rossi said, “We are very proud of our group. Also, the Area Board has supported our group recently with a grant to train new DofE expedition supervisors. We would like to thank them and to show that with their help, we are able to train and support our DofE participants to complete their awards.
“We also welcome our new DofE leaders, Max Luff and Stacey Jackson who are now training 14 participants towards their silver awards.”
