OVER 700 Easter eggs have been donated to Melksham Foodbank.
A total of 721 eggs were donated by the community and local businesses, smashing last year’s total of 535. The ‘egg-stremely’ generous collection was organised by Clare Richter from ‘at Keller Williams Sales & Lettings’, and Lisa King and Kylie Broadhurst from L&K Cleaning.
“We were so happy with how it went,” said Clare on behalf of the trio, “and we were ecstatic that we smashed last year’s total. It means that despite an increase in the amount of families using the foodbank there will be an egg for everybody in their Easter bags. Thank you to all the local businesses and local residents that donated.
“We also have plans to do a Christmas drive to help out with the Christmas bags that people receive. The foodbank help so many people and if we can help as much as possible then it’s our community that benefits.”
