ENTRIES are now open for this year’s Semington Slog on Saturday 16th May.
The annual village event will see runners take on a 10k or 2k distance starting from St George’s primary school.
Organisers say, “The 10k route will take you through the village and onto the Kennet and Avon canal towpath. From here you will follow leafy lanes and bridle paths before returning to the village. The 2k route is a loop from the school, round the village via the towpath. The run is being organised to raise funds for the school and as always, the event involves the whole community.”
Registration starts at 8.45am before the warm up and safety briefings ahead of the 10am race start. Parking is available close to the venue, a five-minute walk with marshals directing entrants from the main road. There will also be fitness stalls, bouncy castle, children’s activities and a 1k fun run.
Water will be available at the start and finish, as well as close to 5k on the course. All runners will receive a ‘Slog Dog’ at the finish.
Tea, coffee, cakes and a barbecue will be available to purchase.
There will be prizes for the first male, first female, first male 40, first female 40, first male Semington resident, first female Semington resident, first male 2k and first female 2k.
