TWO local women have set up S&S Events, a new event management company in Melksham, and are hoping to bring more entertainment, inspiration and unique opportunities to the local community.
April Taylor and Hayley Spencer, both self-employed, are already settling into their new roles and are hoping to take on Christmas parties, themed music nights, and a wedding fair over the coming months.
Hayley, Melksham town councillor and owner of KomiX on Church Street says, “This is a really exciting time for Melksham – the town is flourishing and more people are coming forwards to help improve and develop our community in their spare time, which is fantastic.
“We may be a small town compared to those surrounding us, but it doesn’t mean we can’t compete and offer more – we have great facilities available and we plan to use them and show them off!”
April owns Vibrant Faces face painting, and both women volunteer for the popular Melksham Comic-Con, and the fundraising events put on to support it.
April said, “Comic-Con is great fun and was brilliant in helping me get more involved with the Melksham community when I moved here from Bristol a couple of years ago. It made me want to do more!”
First on the schedule for S&S Events are “Christmas Classics”, Christmas parties on Fri 11th and Sat 12th December at Melksham Assembly Hall.
“We’re really excited about hosting Christmas parties this year!” the duo continued. “Local businesses both big and small, and even groups of friends who like to celebrate together during the festive period can book tables for the evening, and as well as a fantastic carvery dinner, all entertainment is included too!
“We have a live band, table entertainment, fun photo booth photography and more!”
