The Art House Cafe in Melksham continues to delight with an exhibition throughout September of work by members of the Hilperton Art Group.
The local group of painters meet regularly on a Wednesday morning at St. Mary’s Church, Horse Road, Hilperton. The group is a small and friendly one of mixed age and ability
Members follow a theme or title which is suggested for them or they work on their own project. There are the occasional demonstrations from capable artists to inspire and guide and once or twice a year, members can exhibit their own work to the public.
Whether you are just beginning or have long been a practising artist, for more information about the group and to learn about free ‘taster’ sessions, phone Eileen Parfitt on 01225 769663. And, if you can, visit the Art House Cafe to see their work for yourself.
Sharing the exhibition wall space with the Hilperton group is Hayley Jones who said, “Born in London but spending much of my life on the Kent coast, I studied art and design from diploma to degree level. I now teach art and design in Marlborough, dedicating a huge amount of my time to educating the youth of today and sharing my love and knowledge of all things art with my students.
“I have exhibited a large amount of work in and around Wiltshire since my late teens and have also been involved in set design and redevelopment projects. My aim is to not only produce artwork that brightens up a room, but to also bring a smile to each and every person who lays eyes on my work, even if for just a moment.”
