MELKSHAM Assembly Hall has some great films fresh from the cinema lined up for people of all ages over the coming weeks.
On Saturday 23rd September, 10.30am: The Emoji Movie (PG). The Emoji Movie unlocks the never-before-seen secret world inside your smartphone. Hidden within the messaging app is Textopolis, a bustling city where all your favourite emojis live, hoping to be selected by the phone’s user. In this world, each emoji has only one facial expression – except for Gene, an exuberant emoji who was born without a filter and is bursting with multiple expressions. Determined to become “normal” like the other emojis, Gene enlists the help of his handy best friend Hi-5 and the notorious code breaker emoji Jailbreak. Together, they embark on an epic “app-venture” through the apps on the phone, each its own wild and fun world, to find the code that will fix Gene. But when a greater danger threatens the phone, the fate of all emojis depends on these three unlikely friends who must save their world before it’s deleted forever. On Thursday 28th September, 7.30pm: Black Sabbath: The End of the End. This documentary is the story of the last gig by the biggest name in heavy metal, Black Sabbath. After nearly 50 years, the band from Birmingham took to the stage for one last time in their home city, bringing down the curtain on the final tour that no one thought would ever happen. The film gives fans the opportunity to relive that final concert as well as giving an unparalleled insight into the men that have seen and lived it all, in their own words.
