MELKSHAM FoodBank has expressed their gratitude at those in the community that continue to support the scheme.
In a letter sent to the Melksham News a representative from the foodbank said, “We, at Melksham FoodBank would like to say a huge thank you to all the people of Melksham who have, once again, given so generously to Melksham FoodBank, especially before and over the Christmas period, we have been blown away by the generosity of the people in this town!
“Because of money received from churches and the Rotary Club we were able to put vouchers into all our boxes given out in November and December. This was also supported by Sainsbury’s who kindly gave an extra £50 worth of vouchers. Another donation was from a married couple who decided to give to the FoodBank instead of buying each other presents this year!
“Asda, Waitrose and Sainsbury’s have all been generous over the Christmas period. Residents at Wharf Court in Spa Road had a wonderful collection for us and donated a great selection of Christmas goodies.
“We, as a team of volunteers have been overwhelmed by the incredible support we receive. We want to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to you all. Be assured that we are doing our best to ensure the food is getting out to the people who need it.
“If you, or anyone you know is struggling, please contact your housing officer, church leader, your children’s school, doctor, CAB etc. who will refer you and provide you with a food parcel. Thank you for being such a caring town.”
