FOREST Community Centre is celebrating its third anniversary on Saturday 30st July and is inviting everyone to join them for their Summer Fayre and Car Boot.
In 1993, the residents of the Forest area voiced their views that what the area needed was a community centre. So after many years of setbacks, in August 2013, the hardworking team of volunteers finally opened the doors of the Forest Community Centre to the public.
Vic Oakman, chairman of the community centre said, “It has been a fantastic few years and a great success for the community; much better than we ever thought it would be.
“We are celebrating with a big party and hope everyone comes along. It starts at 11.00am and will be a packed day of fun for all. There will be a raffle, a barbecue, charity stalls, bouncy castle and a dog show sponsored by Bath Vets Group, plus lots more. Also there will be live entertainment into the evening. The car boot is always a success. It’s £5 per pitch and pitches can be set up from 10am. To book a pitch call Edna on 705378.
“We will also have a five-a-side football tournament starting at 11am. Last year’s event was packed, so it would great if this year’s was the same. Hopefully the weather will be nice!”
