FORMER Melksham Oak student, Tyler Bartlett, spent December touring the country with the theatre company ‘Panto Bus’ playing various roles in ‘Aladdin’.
Tyler, who attends Stagecoach Theatre Arts School in Trowbridge, has a passion for singing and performing and jumped at the chance to join the Panto Bus on their country-wide tour.
The company contacted Tyler, through a recommendation they received, after they had been let down last minute. He only had an hour to decide on whether he would leave normality behind and join the company for five weeks.
The tour travelled to Aberdeen, Wales, Banbury and Liverpool, with others in between. They performed at army barracks, theatres, schools and clubs. Overall, he had three roles to learn, playing the Genie, the Emperor and PC Panda.
Tyler said, “I had an amazing time on tour and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I have been asked back on tour with them again this year.”
