The Melksham Friends of Dorothy House have now raised over £300,000 since the mid 1980s after their most recent fundraiser.
The group, led by Ann Peirce and Brenda Abbott, presented a cheque for £9,500 to Dorothy House Hospice from their fundraising in 2014 which pushed them over the £300,000 mark. The cheque was presented at their Carol Supper held at the Spencer Sports and Social Club on Wednesday 10th December.
This year’s total has been raised from Ann and Brenda’s various fundraising events including lunches at Cumberwell Park Golf Club and a mixed golf classic competition at Kingsdown Golf Club as well as the Carol Supper at the Spencer Sports & Social Club which is the festive culmination of their year’s activities.
Emily Knight, Dorothy House community fundraiser said, “Everyone at Dorothy House would like to pass on our immense thanks and gratitude to Ann, Brenda and the dream team for their incredible support of the charity and the love they have shown for the patients, carers, volunteers, supporters and staff over the years. They are amazing!”
