THIS year’s Model Railway Show, organised by the West Wiltshire Gauge 0 Group, will be held on Saturday 5th November 2022 from 10am to 4pm.
The upcoming show will be the 22nd event the group have put on and it will be held at the Paragon Hall, Haynes Road, Westbury, Wiltshire BA13 3HA.
The entry prices this year are £6 adults, £5 concessions and Gauge 0 Guild members. Prices have remained at £12 for a family of 2+2 and £2 for children.
The West Wiltshire Gauge 0 Group have invited ten layouts to this year show. These are in the most popular scales and gauges including N gauge, 009, 00 and 0 Gauge.
Organisers say, “Kieth Wareham’s ever popular 0 Gauge Test Track will be the centre piece of the show with seating around the layout for visitors to the show to sit and watch full length trains running at line speed whilst enjoying a cup of tea and a piece of cake from the refreshment counter. A layout of tin plate 0 Gauge Hornby, Bassett Lowke and more modern Darstaed trains for the vintage enthusiast will also be one of the layouts.
“Please feel free to talk to the exhibitors with your comments and questions. They will be happy to speak with you.
“Returning again this year is Ashley with his extensive Scalextric layout. This is usually based on a well-known racing circuit. Visitors to the show may be invited to have fun and operate the cars.
“Trade support this year is from Branchlines of Westbury with kits, motors, gear boxes and a selection of some tools. There will be also a selection of stalls selling second hand railway items, A.P.K Models, Fred Lewis and John Drago with preowned quality 0 Gauge items of stock and David Smith with a selection of books. There is also a bring and buy stall for visitors to sell their surplus items. Demonstrations this year are by our friends at the Bristol 0 Gauge Group.
“There will be a tombola with prizes donated by members of the West Wiltshire Gauge 0 Group. Refreshments will be available. Visit the show, bring along the children, have fun and enjoy your time watching the trains go by.”
