A MELKSHAM runner is set to take on the Bath Half to raise money for Dorothy House.
Samantha Morrison who has raised funds for several different charities over the years by running long distances, baking cakes and parachuting out of planes will now take on the Bath Half for the third time on Sunday 1st March.
She ran the Bath Half last year in a time of 2hrs 10mins but hopes to better that this year with a target time of 1hr 45mins.
Samantha said, “As the race gets closer I am feeling excited and a little nervous at the same time. As well as raising as much money as possible for Dorothy House Hospice, I am also wanting to beat my personal best.
“I feel training is going really well, I feel confident for the run and my fitness is at a good level. As well as running I am doing strength and core training, swimming, walking and exercise classes. I am currently suffering no injuries, so all good.
“There are so many reasons for choosing to fundraise for Dorothy House Hospice Care. One being that it is a local well known charity that offers support and respite for not only the patients, but also friends and family within the local community. I have known people such as friends and family that have been helped and supported by this amazing charity. My father also works for the charity as the manager of the Melksham furniture store, which allows me understand how important and vital donations are for this charity, so they can continue to offer great support for so many.”
