THE Riverside Centre has various fundraising events planned to raise funds for further refurbishment projects.
The first event is due to be held on Friday 17th May, with a bingo night, complete with a licensed bar, raffle and food. The cost of a card is £2.50 and the prize is 50% of the sales.
This will be followed by the bimonthly meeting of Wiltshire Council’s Area Board on Wednesday 22nd May. “All are welcome to join us,” explains the chair of the centre, Chris Pickett.
Then on Thursday 20th June the Riverside Centre will be holding an annual general meeting, followed swiftly by musical entertainment, again there will be a licensed bar and nibbles, entry is free.
The events will raise funds for the refurbishment of the toilets and kitchen. “Firstly, the toilets are in need of a facelift, with a particular emphasis on the underground drainage, which has been causing problems,” says Chris. “Secondly, the old cookers in the kitchen need to be updated and thirdly, the table store, formerly a gally kitchenette, needs to be cleaned of its broken tiles, painted and spruced up.”
