TO help keep the community warm this winter, Wiltshire Wildlife Community Energy held an energy advice café at That Meeting Space, Melksham, sharing tips with local people about how to save energy and keep warm as the country faces an energy crisis.
Carbon reduction champion for Wiltshire Wildlife Community Energy, Jessica Thimbleby, met with those who attended the event to share tips and ideas such as how to reduce heat loss, how to increase warmth and how to keep costs down.
Jessica said, “At the moment I am talking to groups, lunch clubs and children’s centres sharing information, advice and simple tips about how people can keep warm this winter. Going to talk to people directly has been a really successful way to reach those who are not able to find this information out online.”
To ensure as many of those in the Melksham communities are reached as possible, Jessica will be holding more of these sessions around town.
The next sessions will be held at Melksham’s community larder at the Roundhouse, Church Street SN12 6LS, on Monday 28th January at 4.15-5pm; Friendship Lunch Club at Shaw Village Hall, The Beeches, Shaw, SN12 8EW at 10.30am-2pm on Wednesday 30th November; Thursday 8th December from 2pm, after 5 to thrive at the Canberra Children’s centre 56 Spa Road, SN12 7NY and Friday 9th December at Melksham Library at the Melksham Community Campus SN12 6ES 10am-1pm.
