THE decision from Wiltshire Council whether to approve an application for 263 new homes in Shurnhold has been delayed.
The Wiltshire Council strategic committee was expected to make a decision in March but that has now been put back until 22nd April at the earliest.
The planning application by Gladman Developments for land just off the A365 has caused concern for many local residents who feel that it should be rejected due to the increased likelihood of flooding in a vulnerable area, a lack of local school places, a lack of facilities in the town to support this development as well as the others planned and increased traffic flow on a busy route that connects the town with Bath. A petition against the development was also signed by over 500 people.
Melksham Town Council has already objected to the plans.
