MELKSHAM’S two councils have joined forces for this year’s tree planting campaign.
The campaign will offer Melksham Town Council and Melksham Without Parish Council residents free tree seedlings (whips) for planting in their private garden.
Both councils have allocated £1,000 to spend on the scheme, which is expected to launch this month.
The campaign was launched for the first time in January last year for town council residents.
During the previous campaign, residents outside the boundary of the town council area were not eligible for a free tree as Melksham Without were not participating.
Details of the upcoming scheme will be shared in the Melksham News when they become available.
