STAR of BBC Television and Radio 4’s ‘Gardeners’ Question Time’, Bob Flowerdew, will be appearing at Melksham Assembly Hall on Thursday 29th May at 7.30pm to encourage everyone to get more out of their gardens with less work.
Hosted by the Melksham Gardeners’ Society, Bob will be sharing his knowledge of ways to reduce work in the garden, eliminate unnecessary jobs and giving tips on how to make gardens more enjoyable and more productive. As one of the team of experts in the Royal Horticultural Society’s (RHS) Growing for Success series of talks Bob aims to help gardeners get more out of their gardens whilst inspiring everyone to enjoy their gardens.
Bob said, “It’s really great to be able to meet so many gardeners from across the UK as part of the RHS’s talks this year. I’m looking forward to meeting Melksham’s gardeners, and hope to help them get more out of their gardens without doing a great deal of work.
“My talk on ‘No Work Gardening’, or rather, ‘Least Labour Gardening’, gives gardeners advice on ways to reduce or eliminate unnecessary chores and get more flowers, fruit and produce with much less work! I like to think of it as a humorous discourse that is sharply focussed on gardening but with something for the non-horticulturalists.”
Cliff Fiander from Melksham Gardeners’ Society said, “It’s a real honour to host Bob Flowerdew, with his special blend of humour and good gardening advice, as part of our series of events this year. We’re all looking forward to hearing how to get more enjoyment out of our gardens whilst doing less work as I’m sure every gardener wants the best possible results from the work they put in! Welcoming one of the experts from the BBC’s ‘Gardeners’ Question Time’ team to Melksham is a real boost for the society.
“The Melksham Gardeners’ Society aims to encourage everyone to enjoy their gardens and we’re always keen to welcome new green-fingered members to our monthly meetings to find out more of what we offer.”
The event is being hosted by the Melksham Gardeners’ Society on Thursday 29th May at 7.30pm at the Melksham Assembly Hall, Market Place, (SN12 6ES) – www.melksham gardenerssociety.co.uk.
