FOLLOWING the success of the knitted poppies for the Royal British Legion, staff at the Co-operative Funeralcare are selling a range of knitted items for the British Red Cross.
Anita Silk from the Co-operative Funeralcare said, “The ladies who made the poppies came to us and said they wanted to keep knitting and what else could they make for us. So myself and Michelle Millward suggested they make gift items such as hats, mittens, children’s toys etc.
“All the money raised will go to the British Red Cross who especially at this time of year, help people battling loneliness.
“They are beautifully made and the quality is exceptional. They would make lovely Christmas gifts or stocking fillers.
“It has brought the Melksham community together as we now run a knitting and coffee morning and everyone is welcome. Even if you don’t knit, just come along for a hot drink and chat.
“The items will be on sale throughout 2016 as well, so there’s plenty of time to buy a lovely gift and help a brilliant cause.”
