ORGANISERS of Westbury’s Hilly Helmet Challenge will take over this weekend’s parkrun in King George V playing field.
Participants are being encouraged to wear helmets and hats at the 5k run this Saturday, 11th May, at 9am.
The person with the best helmet will win an entry to the Hilly Helmet Challenge, which takes place on Wednesday 14th August at the Leighton Recreation Centre in Westbury.
The Hilly Helmet Challenge is in aid of Brain Tumour Support and all participants are encouraged to wear a helmet – inspired by organiser Robin-Mark Schols’s experience of having surgery for a brain tumour in 2009. Following treatment, Robin-Mark had to wear a helmet to protect his head whilst running.
