MELKSHAM Bloomers is continuing their appeal for more volunteers to help them with mission to make the town bloom!
The volunteer group is particularly keen to recruit volunteers to help them build new large wooden planters for Lowbourne. The group have ambitions to introduce more trees to the town – but they need your help!
On behalf of Melksham Bloomers, Terri Welch said, “It was good to meet some new enthusiastic gardeners last week when we held our welcome session. I understand that there were some people who were not able to join us, due to prior commitments – if there are more they will be welcomed with open arms! The best person to contact is me on 01225 702800 or by email: terri12@virginmedia.com
“One of our requests is for anybody capable of helping us construct some large wooden planters. We want to introduce more trees to the town, specifically in Lowbourne, in front of Marjo’s Fashion and the Card and News Centre. There was a tree there, but unfortunately it got in the way of a car who preferred to drive on the pavement instead of the road!
“The wooden planters will need to be large enough to take a tree and under planting, this will enhance the area and introduce more trees to our sterile pavements.
“If people have other brilliant ideas on how we can enhance our town, we would like to hear from them. Come and get involved in making Melksham Bloom!”
