THE next Tidy Town Day will take place on Sunday 2nd July, and local people are being encouraged to get involved with tidying up the town in preparation for South West in Bloom judging.
Tidy Town Days were set up by the South West in Bloom Melksham group and Melksham Town Team, in order to help keep Melksham looking great all year round, but volunteers are being sought to help on Sunday 2nd July, a week before judges from South West in Bloom visit Melksham for this year’s competition.
Deputy town clerk, Clare Harris said, “It would be brilliant if we had a big group of volunteers come together to help weed, litter pick and make final touches to our town before the judges descend on us on 7th July.
“If you could spare an hour or two to help us make Melksham look the best it can be, we would be very grateful, and we will reward you with tea and cake at the Town Hall afterwards!”
Melksham has won a Silver Gilt Award three years in a row and with the points getting higher each time, Melksham is getting closer to Gold!
Those who are interested should meet at Melksham Town Hall at 1pm wearing sensible clothes and shoes – tools and gloves will be provided.
To join in or find out more call the Town Hall on 704187 or email Clare.Harris@melkshamtown.co.uk
