Here’s to the next 50 years of Melksham Music and Drama! Past and present cast and crew celebrate golden anniversary

PAST and present cast and crew members of  Melksham Music and Drama gathered together last week to celebrate the group’s golden anniversary.

At a special event held before the premiere of the group’s 50th anniversary show, Rogers and Hammerstein’s musical, ‘Cinderella: The Enchanted Edition’, party-goers reminisced on the group’s 50 years of history.

In attendance were founding members of the club, which first launched in 1969 as the Melksham Comedy Club.

For five decades the group has thrilled and entertained the community with a variety of shows including pantomimes such as ‘Puss in Boots’, ‘Robinson Crusoe’, and ‘Snow White’. Other shows have include the musicals ‘Grease’, ‘Oklahoma!’; and musical farce ‘Act Your Age’, which won the National Operatic and Drama Association award for ‘Best Comedy Production’ in the South West in 2017.
