A PLANNING application to build 75 houses in Semington has been refused by Wiltshire Council.
The development would have seen the size of the village increase by 19%, which Semington Parish Council and local residents said would severly affect the dynamic of the village.
Wiltshire Council refused the application on the grounds that the development ‘would be wholly out of scale and a disproportionate addition to the existing village of Semington,’ and ‘would have a harmful impact on the appearance of the countryside,’ due to its scale and location.
Another application for a further 72 houses to be built on land north of St George’s Road has been submitted by Framptons Planning on behalf of Oxford Law.
Semington Parish Council has objected the application and 92 residents have submitted letters to Wiltshire Council expressing their objections.
