MELKSHAM’S Tidy Town Team is encouraging people to get involved with the Big Spring Clean next month.
Following many months of regular litter picking on the first Sunday of every month, the Melksham Tidy Town Day in March will be a little different.
The first weekend in March is also the weekend of the Great British Spring Clean, a national initiative from Keep Britain Tidy, in which volunteers across the country will be getting out to tidy up Britain.
Groups across Melksham will be tidying up all weekend, and the usual Tidy Town Day on Sunday 5th March will take place as part of the weekend of cleaning. Instead of the usual location of the Town Hall, however, the meeting point will be at the Canberra Youth Centre on Spa Road.
Organiser Miriam Zaccarelli says, “The formula will be the same: show up at the Canberra Youth Centre at 1pm, get kitted out with the equipment provided, head off in pairs or teams to tidy up the town and return at 3pm for tea and refreshments.
“There is always a great turn out for Melksham’s Tidy Town events and we hope this one will be even better than usual.”
