THE Melksham Monday Movies Club returns to the Assembly Hall this year with two films planned for January.
Coming up is King of Thieves on Monday 9th January; A true crime film about a crew of retired crooks who pull off a major heist in London’s jewellery district and what starts off as their last criminal ‘hurrah’, quickly turns into a brutal nightmare due to greed.
This is followed on Monday 23rd January by It Snows in Benidorm; Peter has worked all his life at a Manchester Bank.
When he is awarded an early retirement, he decides to visit his brother in Benidorm, only to discover that he’s disappeared.
Doors for both showings open at 1.30pm and the films start at 2pm. There is a break for tea or coffee and a chance to catch up with friends before finishing around 4pm.
Admission is by donation with a suggestion of £4.
Movies are shown throughout the year on the first and third Monday of each month at the Assembly Hall although this usually changes with bank holidays.
The group is run by Melksham Seniors. Terri Welch said, “As the film is in the afternoon the target audience is the retired folks but everyone is welcome. You often find mother and daughter attending together.”
