LUCKY primary school pupils from Melksham are all set to travel to the 02 Arena in London where they will take part in the Young Voices concert, a 5,000-strong choir made up of primary school pupils from across the country.
34 pupils from King’s Park Academy will be participating in the Young Voices concert, which will mark its 17th anniversary with a series of concerts.
King’s Park Academy will perform at the 02 Arena with a host of other schools from across the country. This will mark their third appearance at the 02 Arena, having performed at the past two years’ Young Voices concert. Headteacher Becky O’Brien said, “It was such a magnificent experience last year, we knew we had to go again. It’s an amazing experience for the children; how many of them can say they have sung at the 02?”
The concert has been running for seven years and aims to raise funds for CLIC Sargent, a charity that cares for children and young people with cancer. Last year alone over £900,000 was raised from Young Voices. The concert will also support FareShare, which collects and distributes food to disadvantaged families.
The concert is a private event with parents and family of the pupils able to purchase tickets.
