Melksham Oak Community School Knitathon took place on Wednesday 5th November.
This was part of The Big Issue’s KNITATHON, a nationwide project.
Students, parents, staff and the local community all contributed to creating lengths of knitting in preparation for the yarn bombing set to take place in December.
The new Melksham Oak house system took advantage of the opportunity with houses competing to win the most points through the most knitting. Castor House won on this occasion.
The outcome of the knitathon is to ‘yarn bomb’ a tree outside Melksham Town Hall. The big reveal is to take place at the same time as the Christmas lights on 6th December.
