It’s time to leave your car at home and get walking and cycling!
That’s the message from local health campaigners who are promoting two local campaigns to help you on your way.
September 3rd will be celebrated as National Cycle to Work Day. The event aims to encourage everyone to take to two wheels and cycle to work for at least one day.
According to the census data, 760,000 people in the UK cycle to work regularly – this number keeps growing steadily.

Alternatively, if you don’t have a bicycle and you want to keep fit and healthy, walking is a free activity that is also good for your health. Furthermore, Westbury is lucky to have beautiful countryside just on the doorstep.
To get you started, Get Wiltshire Walking is being celebrated in the county during the first week of September with a number of activities and events being held.
Walking has been proven to support improvements in health, is really easy to get started, you don’t need any specialist equipment, its free and it’s a great way to explore new routes and paths.
