A NEW life-saving defibrillator has been installed on the Bowerhill Industrial Estate.
The new defibrillator can be found at Westbury Packaging on Lancaster Rd – it has been purchased by the cardboard packaging manufacturers to serve its staff and the community, and is available 24 hours a day.
Westbury Packaging’s compliance manager, Tim Waylen, said, “This is something we wanted to put in place since Christie Miller Sports Centre closed. It will enable us to support the local community – we get a lot of passing traffic and a lot of pedestrians.”
The new defibrillator has been registered on ‘The Circuit’, the national defibrillator network that connects defibrillators to NHS ambulance services across the UK.
The locations of defibrillators in the town are: Melksham Riverside Centre; Jones Supermarket, Forest Road; Water Meadow Pub, Cranesbill Road; Melksham Assembly Hall; Melksham Fire Station, Semington Road; Melksham Store, Beanacre Road; the SSE Building, Spa Road; and Queensway Chapel, Pembroke Road.
Defibrillators in rural areas can be found at: The Pilot Pub, Bowerhill; the pavilion at Bowerhill Sports Field; The New Inn, Berryfield; Shaw Village Hall; Whitley Reading Rooms; and St Barnabas Church (entrance porch), Beanacre.
