CHILDREN at Forest & Sandridge CE Primary School are taking part in Wiltshire Police’s Mini Police project.
The project aims to give children the opportunity to learn about issues in the community, for the police to build trust with families and communities and to develop skills and self-esteem in the children taking part.
“We are very excited as a school to be part of the Mini Police project run by Wiltshire Police,” says vice principal James Mead. “It gives our children the opportunity to discuss current issues within the community as well as things important to them. I know the children are keen to tackle local issues such as littering and parking.”
A pupil said, “I am excited to join the mini police. We got our uniforms last week and I felt really important. It gives us a chance us to speak up and talk about things that are important to us.”
