LOCAL photographer John Hoskins has recently been selected to have one of his photographs featured in the PAGB masters of print exhibition held in London.
The Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) Masters of Print competition is held each October, followed by a public exhibition. Individual photographers who are members of affiliated clubs may enter directly, without any pre-qualification.
Photographers can enter prints to any of the three categories: monochrome, colour, and nature. Awards are given to individual prints and then they are selected to feature in the exhibition.
John’s image ‘Soft Sale’ shows a Big Issue seller, taken in Bath with his dog and was one of 59 selected from 1000s to feature on display. John also won £300 worth of vouchers from Hahnemühle for his participation.
His image was one of just two entries chosen from the Western Counties Photographic Federation, an affiliated federation with PAGB that serves Cornwall, Devon, part of Dorset, Somerset, part of Wiltshire, and south Gloucestershire.
John Hoskins said, “It’s amazing, I just think the competition is a wonderful idea and will be big in years to come. I entered purely out of wanting to support the idea, I didn’t have any expectation to be chosen as there is so much good stuff out there.”
