A COMMUNITY hub based in Melksham has a busy schedule of events for residents with something for all ages.
The Riverside Centre, based on Bath Road along the Millennium Riverside Walk, is home to live music events and several local clubs and with a six-week cooking course coming up.
This is a terrific community facility here in Melksham with ample parking, a great hall and kitchen, beautifully clean and ideal for regular events and special occasions,” says chair of the centre’s committee, Chris Pickett.
“As a community hub, the committee are keen that its use is for all ages. Currently we have the Rainbow Club which runs on a Monday for those with care needs of varying ages; on a Tuesday, Magical Music is there for the very young with their mums and in the evening, it’s Rock ‘n’ Roll all the way. By Wednesday, the air is full of music with Melksham’s singers and in the evening, an informal musicians’ jam session.
“For Thursday, the hall makes a home for people who have sight difficulties and, in the evening, the green fingers of Cactus Growers all come together to chat about their hobby. A six-week cooking course will be coming this month for those wishing to keep ‘good food on the table on a budget’.
“In the pipeline we hope to have more entertainment available, be it a VIP Jazz Evening, or an afternoon with a Raggle Taggle Gypsy Band, a singing soloist, classical guitars and choirs; all are in the melting pot so keep an eye on the Melksham News for future dates.
