EXCITEMENT is building ahead of the fourth Melksham Makers’ Market of the year, which is taking place on Saturday 30th July, 9am – 2pm, in the Market Place.
“We’re really hoping the good weather continues for our market!” says Sarah, one of the market organisers. “We’re so lucky that we’re able to use the Market Place for our outdoor markets as we’re so visible, and it’s a fantastic space right in the centre of town.”
The Makers’ Market is held on the last Saturday of the month in the Melksham Market Place from April – October, and showcases a wide variety of local makers and traders.
Nicola says, “We have lots of our regular traders joining us as well as some new faces too. There will be huge variety of makes on offer from delicious cakes, doggie treats, hand painted ceramics, candles, bespoke wooden gifts, sewn gifts and accessories, papercrafts, cards, honey, children’s clothes and much more – all handmade from local makers and artists.”
Joining the Melksham Makers’ Market on Saturday 30th July is local business owner Kat Bujak from Floral Flames (www.floralflames.co.uk). Kat specialises in handmade art candles and lanterns, which are made from high quality paraffin wax, and can be personalised too.
Many of Kat’s candles include photographs, real pressed flowers and other decorations – perfect if you’re looking for that extra special gift for someone. It’s a real family affair with Kat’s daughter Karolina now on board too!
Kat says, “I love being part of the Melksham Makers’ Market. It’s such a great way to meet people from the local community and be able to show off my handmade candles and lanterns. The Market Place is a fantastic venue and we’re so lucky to be able to use the gazebos from Melksham Town Council.”
