Melksham Sixty Plus Club is a social club for the older residents of the Melksham area and was founded in 1949.
The club currently has a membership of about 45 people. Meetings are held every Tuesday at Riverside Club from 2 – 4 p.m.
Members vary in agility from the very able, to members who use walkers or wheelchairs.
For many members it is the only time they are able to get out and meet friends, which is why there is an on-going contract with the Community Bus which picks up members from their homes and returns them after meetings.
At meetings a friendly bingo session and raffle with refreshments at half time is enjoyed. The social aspect of the club is very important which is why events are organised every 6 – 8 weeks.
