ANOTHER team of enthusiastic volunteers met to tidy up St Michaels’ Churchyard on Saturday 15th March.
Following on from a very successful Churchyard Challenge Day in November when a great deal of clearing and weeding took place, the spring challenge involved planting spring bulbs and tidying up gravestones in St Michael’s churchyard.
With snowdrops and daffodils donated from the gardens of Cleeve House in Seend, and soup, rolls, cakes and tea donated from Asda, the team of volunteers had plenty to get on with.
‘It’s so lovely to see everyone working together,’ said Terri Welch, chair of Melksham Town Team, ‘It’s also great to raise awareness of the Churchyard so that more people are able to appreciate the lovely space we have right here in the centre of Melksham.’
