MELKSHAM is gearing up ready for Children in Need, with various fundraising events expected to take place across the town on Friday 18th of November.
The Children in Need campaign is the BBC’s UK corporate charity. The annual event takes place all across the UK to raise money to help improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.
Since 1980, the appeal has raised over £600million and last year’s appeal raised a record-breaking £55million.
Last year, people in Melksham came up with their fair share of wacky and wonderful ideas to raise money for the appeal. ‘Wear your pyjamas to school’, raffles, fancy dress and cake bakes were just some of the activities that took place – some lucky schools even had a visit from Pudsey!
