BRUCE Petty has scooped this year’s top prize in the Melksham in Bloom competition for the second year in a row.
Bruce, who lives on St Michael’s Road, impressed judges with flowering archways, colourful arrangements and his commitment to maintaining a well-kept garden all year round.
He said, “It’s great to have won the competition overall. I won the most environmentally friendly category which is pleasing as I have put a lot of work into using recycled rain water to water the plants.”
“It’s an all-year round thing for me and it’s good to have that recognised at the end of it although of course, I do enjoy doing it.
“I was also very honoured to have the South-west in Bloom judges come visit my garden as part of their judging of Melksham, it’s a real privilege.”
Bruce has won the competition five out the past six years he has entered Melksham in Bloom.
