Melksham’s finest moustaches and their owners gathered for a night of curry and awards to raise funds for the international charity ‘Movember’.
Movember sees men across the country grow a moustashe to help raise awareness of men’s health issues such as prostate cancer and other male cancers.
Melksham men celebrated the final few days with their hairy lips at Melksham Tandoori. Melksham Town Football Club manager Darren Perrin judged the moustaches and awards were handed out for ‘Man of Movember’, the ‘ultimate moustache’ and of course the worst moustache!
Melksham Tandoori manager Sayeed Ibrahim said “This is our second Movember evening and we are pleased to support this great charity. We have seen some weird and wonderful tashes and the lads have given up lots of money tonight, which will go straight to this great cause. I would like to thank all that took part and we hope to see you next year’
Winner of ‘Man of Movember’ Wesley Frith said, “It’s been a long month of grooming but the hard work has paid off. I never thought I would win an award for my facial hair, but i suppose there is a first time for everything! It’s been a great night and we’ve raised some much-needed money for the charity.”
The final amount raised on the night was £132.70
