Melksham Music and Drama will be performing Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat on 14th, 15th and 16th September, and our looking for sponsors.
“Many of us have wanted to do this show for many years but it’s always been aimed mainly at schools,” said Geoff Mitcham from the group. “Back in 2019, The Really Useful Group were celebrating 50 years of the musical and offered it out to adult groups. Of course, we jumped at the chance and applied for the licence, which we got. Sadly, it wasn’t to be as the pandemic struck which closed us down for almost two years, then in 2022 they took it on tour around the country.
“However, they very kindly offered us the licence again and we are off and running. This time we will be performing with a live orchestra, something we haven’t done before so this will be a unique experience. If you’ve seen our shows before, you’ll know how much talent we have in the group, so we are excited about doing it in The Assembly Hall.
“It is an expensive show to put on so we are looking for sponsors. We would be extremely grateful to any businesses who would sponsor us and you will of course get a mention or free advert in the programme. You can contact us through our Facebook page or at www.mmad.org.uk.”
Tickets are on sale now through www.ticketsource. co.uk, or at The Tourist Information Centre in Church Street or on the club’s website.
