A MUSIC producer from Melksham is celebrating the biggest success of her career so far after creators of the popular television show ‘Youngers’ confirmed they will be using her track.
Alexis Turvey has been making music since she was just six years old. having been encouraged to do so my her musically minded parents. She is now celebrating that her music is to be played on the E4 programme, which has regular audience figures of around 500,000.
Her track called ‘Mirrors Edge’ has been remixed and is to be used in episode seven of the second series due to be aired on E4 on Wednesday 18th June at 7.30pm.
Alexis has also been approached by a record label in the USA and they will be releasing three of her tracks on vinyl, which will be available in record stores in the UK and the USA later this year. She is also working on a five track EP ‘Broken Sunrise.’
Alexis said, “My mum always encouraged me to have piano lessons and my dad was a DJ, so I have always been interested in music. As I got older, I decided I didn’t get on with lessons as I preferred to create my own music. My dad bought me my first producing software and encouraged me to keep creating it. It was always just a hobby until my dad passed away in 2002 when I decided I wanted to take it more seriously and aim towards a career in music.
“I was so pleased and relieved when I heard from the creators of Youngers. I both work and have a young baby, so it is hard to find time to produce music. I had told myself that music would probably just be a hobby, but then I found out this news and it’s really encouraging.
“There’s not a huge amount of successful female producers and it’s a hard industry to compete in, so this is a big achievement musically for me and I am hoping to get into composing soundtracks for TV and film.
“My EP will be available to buy soon and I would like to thank everyone that’s supported me over the years and hope they enjoy the music I will be releasing in the near future.”
