FATHER Christmas will be visiting Melksham on Sunday 17th December and will join rail users on an exciting trip!
The train leaves at 2.45pm and is due back just before 4pm. Tickets are £10 for adults, £5 for children. This includes the journey, presents for children from Santa, mince pie and a soft drinks. One of the members will gift adults a glass of wine if they prefer that to a soft drink. Bookings should be made via the Melksham Tourist Information Centre from Saturday 25th November onwards.
Graham Ellis, community rail officer at Transwilts Community Rail Partnership said, “Tickets are limited this year due to the increased popularity of Melksham’s train services with regular travellers. As from January 2018, we’ll have an extra carriage, so a lot more capacity for regular journeys, for summer trips and excursions and for Santa next year!
“A big thank you to everyone who’s used the train in 2017 and kept it growing and going. Melksham’s train service is now, perhaps, our most secure piece of public transport where five years ago, the station’s very future was in some doubt.”
